Pianofest 2009 JUNE 22 - 26KEYBOARD ENSEMBLE CAMPS SCHOOL OF MUSIC UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY General Information for All Pianofest 2009 Camps: (For additional specific information regarding each camp, see individual camp sections below.) All sessions will be held in the Singletary Center for the Arts or the Fine Arts Building located on the U.K. campus. Participants will experience the excitement of teamwork as they perform in multi-keyboard ensembles under the direction of a professional conductor. Campers will also participate in a variety of other music activities (specifically programmed for each camp group) such as electronic keyboard technology, theory, ear-training, and chorus. Our staff consists of professional conductors, faculty, and counselors who are highly qualified and enthusiastic music educators. A “Grand Finale” concert will be presented by the Pianofest participants on Friday evening June 26. The final concert will be held in the Singletary Center for the Arts and is open to the public (for ticket information contact the Singletary Center ticket office).Eligibility: Grades listed for each camp indicate the grade completed by June 2009 . Students will be organized into ensemble groups according to piano proficiency level. Each camp will offer ensemble groups based on the following levels of piano proficiency: Early Elementary, Mid-Late Elementary, Intermediate or Advanced. (See page 2 for specific information regarding these levels.)Participant Responsibility: Music for the keyboard ensemble groups must be well-learned prior to camp. Each student will receive specific music assignments after all completed registration information and the non-refundable deposit amount have been received by Pianofest . To allow adequate time to receive and learn the music, students should register as soon as possible!
