Sr. and Jr. Camps : Fees for these camps cover the costs for all of the various sessions mentioned above and also sessions in: music/computer interface, music appreciation, music history, handbell and percussion ensemble. The fees also cover costs for lunch Mon-Fri. and dinner on Fri. evening, and various social and recreational experiences throughout the week. Campers are required to check in at the Singletary Center for the Arts by 8:30 a.m. daily and to stay through the end of the daily activities. Campers must also check out to be dismissed. Music assignments for campers as well as more specific information regarding camp schedule, etc. will be sent to campers when when all completed registration forms and the $80.00 non-refundable deposit have been received by Pianofest. .*Pianofest will not offer chaperoned Resident status this year. However, students who live outside of the Lexington area may stay in University housing or dormitory if accompanied by a parent, guardian, or teacher who will accept responsibility for that camper. Pianofest will not accept responsibility for any resident camper. However, campus housing arrangements may be made by contacting Hank Snead, UK Conference Housing at 859-257-2042 x230. Campus housing information is also available at www.uky.edu/housing/summer_conferences/. Campers will receive notification of specific pieces and specific ensemble parts after completing registration. Each camper will be responsible for preparing approximately 2 to 3 pieces. Campers are responsible for purchasing their own music once specific pieces have been assigned. This music must be learned prior to the start of camp. To help determine appropriate ensemble level, the following sources are offered only as a general example of the comparable level of music difficulty: I Early Elementary: Bastien Primer, FJH Pretime and Level I “Funtime” II Mid-Late Elementary: Bastien Levels I-II; FJH Level 1B, 2A-2B. III Intermediate: Bastien Level III,IV; FJH Level 3-4 IV Advanced: “Fur Elise, Beethoven; “Sonata I” (C Major), Mozart.
Space is limited and certain groups will be filled on a first-come- basis. To allow adequate time to receive and learn the music and in order to give the best possibility of placement, registration should be submitted as soon as possible.
